The World's Best Hand & Grip Strength Training Instruction
LIFT SANDBAGS!
Barbells are made to be lifted...how about building more strength and
power with something that isn't...
Why would you want to lift something like canvas sandbags when there are perfectly good barbells and dumbbells lying around?
Well...read this:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "...You can use sandbags in innumerable ways. Do the farmer's walk with two
heavy sandbags, one in each hand. Bear-hug a big bag of sand and carry it as
far as possible. Deadlift and carry it at arm's length for as long as possible. Use
one bag at a time and carry it as far as possible using only one hand. Fix up a
heavy step and do step-ups holding a bag of sand. Do curls with a sandbag.
Do deadlifts. Do cleans and presses. Lift the bag up to your shoulder. Walk or
run with a bag on your shoulders. Do high pulls. Try to shoulder a 100 or 150 pound sandbag with one arm. Throw them for height. Throw them for distance.
Lift them, carry them. Everything you do with them is valuable..." ~ Dinosaur Training by Brooks Kubik, page 71

If there's any question as to why someone would want to lift sandbags to build strength, those words (and the video at right) should remove all doubt.
The fact of the matter is that sandbag training builds a different "kind" of strength than free weights.
Of course, sandbag training is nothing new - wrestlers and other combat athletes have been
training with heavy, awkward objects such as sandbags for thousands of years.
When lifting sandbags it's going to be a shifting, uneven, unbalanced load which
doesn't exactly fit into the "straight lines" of normal lifting. It's more of a "live" weight than a
barbell and when you train with that kind of weight, you can expect to get stronger all over.
In fact, someone who can easily press or
curl heavy weights with a barbell would probably have a very tough time with a sandbag that
weighs half of what they would normally use - this means more strength and power for you with the same
basic exercises...AND a new challenge.
So, if you are looking to add sandbag lifting to your program, you'll want to lift with the
best sandbags out there...
We now proudly introduce the very best sandbags ever offered.

Sandbags Made for Combat Athletes by Combat Athletes
Over the years I've done a lot of training with different kinds of awkward objects - and sandbags have always
been at the top of the list. Sandbags are something that came up recently while talking with my good friend Ivan Ivanov. You might
recognize Ivan's name as one of the coaches of the World Champion U.S. Greco-Roman wrestling team and creator of the unique
Bulgarian Training Bags.
Ivan has been all over the country with his team and sandbags have been
a staple in many of their training rooms. The problem is that many sandbags are home-made affairs,
which tend to leak or fall apart with heavy use...so I suggested to Ivan that he produce his own sandbags,
that would stand up to anything.
Now, after over a year of research, planning, and experimentation, Ivan's sandbags are finally here!
Introducing the World's BEST Sandbags
What makes these sandbags the world's best? First of all, Ivan tried many different
options in terms of stitching - these bags have several internal "shells" and a durable camouflage outer canvas
covering (the camo was my idea) making them damn near indestructable (there is also a 1-year warranty against leakage during normal use).
No more duct tape, no more worry, no more hassle, no more mess...
These sandbags also come in four different weights: 15, 25, 45, and 65 pounds - mix and match or get the
entire set. Keep in mind that each one is much more challenging than a dumbbell of the same weight. These bags are intentionally only
filled to 70%, allowing you to "grab cloth" and build tremendous finger strength with every exercise you do.
There is a stitched handle on each end to increase grippability. (Please note that sandbag weights are approximate.)
A Brief Introduction to Sandbag Training
Swings...snatches...lunges...farmer's walks...curls...presses...rows...squats...ab work...take your pick.
Just about any traditional "freeweight" exercise can be performed with a sandbag and
you will be very surprised just how heavy a 15 or 25 pound canvas sandbag can feel.
Athletes of every sport can benefit from the unique training techniques
that can be done with sandbags.
Here are a few examples:
Wrestlers and martial artists can use sandbag training to develop quickness and agility with a "live" weight
that can be struck, thrown, or utilized in ways that solid iron weights simply can't. Sandbags also provide
an excellent way to "warm up" or "cool down" as well as allowing individuals to work out alone using a variety
of movements.
Sandbags can be especially valuable to offensive and defensive football linemen looking to build the "perfect punch."
Develop strength and power from the shoulders to the wrist by thrusting the bag at an upward angle to simulate
full extension.
Repeated gripping of the bag for any movement strengthens the fingers and
develops the power to stay on, control, and drive the blocker into the ground.
Basketball players train with the sandbags right there on the court using farmers walk's, wall sits,
squats, lunges, and sit-ups - all exercises which build the toughness to be a champion.
Carry, drag, throw, lift - however you train with canvas sandbags, you know
it's going to be IN-tense.
Squats, Overhead Presses, Hill Running...read the Brooks Kubik
quote above if you need more sandbag training ideas.
The bottom line is that these ARE the best sandbags in the business, and it's about time you included them in
your program...
