Shipping and Lead Time Information
Expected shipping times: We make every effort to get your
rope order to you in the quickest manner possible. Please note that there is a 10-14 business day expected
lead time to all rope orders. Business days do not include weekends or major holidays. So, for example,
a rope ordered on the "1st" according to the above calendar should be expected to arrive on or before the 18th
(at the very latest). "Expected shipping times" as posted include the time to create the rope as well as
the time in transit - please plan accordingly.
Exceptionally large orders or international orders may also require
additional lead time and we will be in contact if that is the case.

-- Knots for Climbing Ropes --
1. Monkey Paw
Option 1: Monkey Paw
The "monkey paw" is a woven grip knot spliced directly into rope which
provides assistance in gripping while climbing up the rope and rest areas while descending.
The "monkey paw" knots are $10 per knot.
2. Big Knot
Option 2:
Big Knot
A large knot (or knots) tied in rope itself forming platforms for assistance in climbing.
The large knots are $10 per each knot.
3. Ball Stop
Option 3:
Ball Stop
Attached Rubber balls provide assistance for intermediate climbing rope participants.
Recommended for athletes up to 120 lbs. Ball stops are $20 each.
You will have to call in if you
are interested in adding knots to your rope order. You cannot place an order for knots over the website, you must call 1-800-979-0206 and our rope experts will assist you.
Please specify number of knots and location desired on each rope order. Options 1 & 2 are available with both manila and polyplus ropes. You can order turks head knots
in substitute for the bottom of the rope being spliced (in the case of the manila rope,) or having a polyboot end, (in the case of the polyplus rope,) for no extra charge. Please
be sure to mention this if you would like this option. Please note however, that turk knots can only go at the end of the rope.
All of our climbing ropes available above include the climbing rope clamp already attached. If you desire to purchase the clamp
"seperately" then you may do so here:
Please Note: By purchasing a "climbing rope clamp" you are agreeing to take full responsibility
for your health and well-being. Rope clamp(s) will already be attached to a 3-foot "short rope" length of manila
climbing rope when shipped.
Removing rope clamp from
original fittings and/or reattachment to another rope will void all warranties and responsibilities of
the original manufacturer.
Reattachment
will require special tools - we can offer no advice or recommendations in this regard.
FHS, its representatives and manufacturers will not and cannot be
held responsible for injury or death which may occur as a result of tampering or mis-use of this item.
Our Manila Climbing Ropes are
Proudly Made in the U.S.A.
IMPORTANT: Second Notice - Read This Prior to Placing Your Order
Before you place an order for a 2" climbing rope, please keep in mind that our 1.5" climbing ropes
generally present more than enough of a challenge for anyone, especially when factoring in variations such
as climbing without using your legs, climbing upside-down, etc.
As a result, we would strongly recommend going with the 1.5" sized rope first, especially if you are new to rope climbing.
By ordering a 2" rope at this time, we are going to assume that you completely and totally understand the difficulty involved. Therefore, consider yourself made aware
of the difficulty. If you proceed in ordering a 2" rope and upon receipt find it too difficult to climb there will be a 25% restocking fee should you decide to exchange it. All exchanges and returns will be at the sole discretion of Functional Hand Strength, Inc.
If you understand the challenge and still want to order a 2" climbing rope at this time, please do so and we will be happy to place your order.
IMPORTANT: Shipping Costs for International Climbing Rope Orders
Prices listed above are for continental United States shipping destinations ONLY! We will be happy to ship our climbing ropes anywhere in the world, however, please be aware that shipping charges have been steadily increasing. If you would like us to ship a climbing rope to Europe or Australia, the shipping cost will at a minimum be $200-$300 depending on the weight of the order and your destination. This is in line with the prices set by the shipping services. If you are willing to accept this level of shipping cost, we will happily complete your order.
Some Things to Consider When Ordering Ropes:
Manila Climbing Ropes are designed to be stored indoors. If you are looking for a rope that you can leave outside in the snow and rain, we recommend going with our PolyPlus Outdoor Climbing Rope. It is specifically built to withstand the elements and will last much longer than manila if left outside.
Unless you are an experienced climber who is familiar with the increased difficulty level offered by 2-inch diameter climbing ropes, we STRONGLY recommend that you order our 1.5-inch diameter rope. 1.5" is widely considered the standard diameter for climbing ropes and will provide more than enough challenge for any athlete.
Other than our five standard manila rope lengths, we have other custom options available. These include longer lengths, thicker ropes, different kinds of materials, attachment hardware, rest knots, etc. We also have tug-of-war ropes available. Please note that custom ropes will require a lead time of 24 business days, so plan accordingly. If you are interested in any custom options, please contact us for details.
Custom rope orders must be paid IN FULL before we will place the order. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- NOTES -
1. For the most secure attachment from climbing rope to ceiling hardware, all manila climbing ropes come with the 1/2" zinc L-1 Quick Link.
2. All outdoor polyplus climbing ropes come with a chain sling to facilitate attachment.
3. All standard length rope orders require a lead time of 10-14 business days. Custom lengths and options besides those shown are available - please contact us if you have questions. If sending payment by check or money order, please contact us first for a total.
4. PLEASE NOTE! If you order a custom rope (meaning those with knots, different lengths or other thicknesses than those offered on the site, etc.) they will require a lead time of 24 business days.
5. Custom rope orders cannot be returned. Please double check your order and make sure that we have the correct specifications.
6. We STRONGLY recommend that you order our 1.5-inch diameter rope. If you order a 2-inch rope and decide that it is too difficult for your needs, you must contact us within seven calendar days from the date of delivery. We will not issue refunds on custom rope orders, and exchanges will be at our sole discretion. If you fail to contact us within seven calendar days from the date your rope is delivered, your request for a product exchange will NOT be considered. Contacting us within the seven day period does not guarantee that we will exchange your rope, so if you are ordering a 2-inch diameter rope, realize that you are doing so at your own risk and that an exchange may not be possible.
7. Customer service phone number: 1-800-978-0206 (Toll Free).
8. Manila Climbing Ropes are designed to be stored indoors. If you need a rope that can be left outside, the PolyPlus rope is a better choice. It is
built to withstand the elements and will last much longer when left outside in the rain and snow.
