"An Unusual Bar That Builds Unusual Strength"Dr. Ken's Log Bar will give you a workout like no otherDear Friend,There will inevitably come a time in your training routine when the best thing you could possibly do is shake things up a bit. While simple routines, trained hard, can make you very strong, a huge part of your success will be determined by whether you enjoy what you are doing. For the goals you are trying to accomplish, how you get "there" is just as important as where you're going... Why not ride in style? Every set counts and since you are serious about getting as strong as possible, you'll need: If these sound like exactly what you are looking for, then you have a lot in common with Dr. Ken Leistner, a man who does not screw around or waste his time training with 2nd rate equipment. Why Dr. Ken Only Trains With The Best Equipment and You Should TooArthur Jones, who pulled no punches when it came to getting results with physical training, preferred a parallel grip bar for overhead pressing and consequently had one made for use in the old Nautilus training facility in Deland and later Lake Helen, Florida. This was where Dr. Ken, who was working for Arthur at the time, was introduced to the concept of the "Log Bar" and found it to be very effective in his training. It was a piece of equipment that he never forgot about. Fast forward a few years and Dr. Ken tried to replicate this concept a number of different ways. While actual logs with parallel handles imbedded into them have been used in the past for various kinds of training, these were impractical for what Dr. Ken needed them for: Real logs are unweildy, difficult to load, difficult to transport and difficult to store. They dry out, chip, crack and otherwise are not durable enough to stand up to constant use. Besides these reasons, there was another problem with solid logs: You see, Dr. Ken trains athletes of all ages and experience levels. Since real logs are solid, the starting weight was often too heavy for many athletes to train effectively with them, thus depriving these athletes of several valuable training exercises. But Dr. Ken didn't let any of that stop him. He knew what he needed in a Log Bar Trainer then found someone who knows what they are doing to put it together. The result became the very best Log Bar trainer available today. You may have read about this Log Bar in several articles in Hardgainer Magazine.
The World's Best Log Bar: A Dr Ken Original (5 foot version shown) Like Buried Treasure For this Serious Strength AthleteIn an amazing twist of fate, A couple months ago I was moving some equipment around in my Dad's gym, and found a piece of equipment in a dusty, forgotten corner that I didn't even know we had... it was a log bar Trainer, a Dr. Ken special.I had seen Log Bars before and we actually used to have an old telephone pole (courtesy of Dr. Ken) which was retrofitted with steel handles and dubbed "Wood's Wood." (You can actually see that log in action in some of Brooks Kubiks' Dinosaur Training Tapes.) For someone such as myself looking for the best results fast and something to shake up my training a little bit, this bar looked like it had possibilities written all over it. I decided to take this piece for a serious test drive... The Trial by Fire: Passed With Flying ColorsNow, I'm not a big fan of long winded, condescending rhetoric telling me what I should and should not be using for my training, especially when it was written by someone who doesn't even train in the first place. But I know good equipment when I see it and if it is "for real" the results will speak for themselves. All that remains is the doin'... After several months of productive workouts with this Log Bar Trainer, I can say that it is without a doubt my new favorite bar for many valuable exercises in my training program. As I said earlier, you have more productive workouts when you train on equipment that just "feels right" and this log bar fits the bill - I have found that many of the best freeweight exercises that I have traditionally done with a straight bar feel even better when done with the Log Bar. Can't exactly explain it, but you'll know when you try it. My personal favorite exercises with this Log Bar Trainer are hammer curls, presses and upright rows. I have always been a big fan of overhead movements but pressing with the Log Bar has given me some very surprising and unexpected results especially in my triceps and upper arm development. Some food for thought for all you pressers out there looking to make conquering gravity a little easier. Designed, Built, Used and Recommended by Those Who Actually Train,
Far too many pieces of equipment that you might see advertised elsewhere are created by folks who
have never trained a day in their lives. Are they interesting? Possibly. Useful? Not really.
Now how is that going to help you get stronger?
Not to mention that
page after page of boring equipment specs makes a pretty good cure for insomnia...

I train with it, it is the highest quaility and, most importantly of all, it works. It's just got that good mojo to it.
Add log bar training to your program and you will know exactly what I am taking about. You'll be pleasently surprised too, just don't
blame me when you need a whole new wardrobe.
