  • A Couple More Quick Reminders

"Its always somthin" - that's what Roseanne Roseannadanna famously used to say on Saturday Night Live - and thats how it is when you run a successful business too..

"something" comes along almost every day that you never expected, that you have to take time to figure out, it aint the end of the world, but it does help quite a bit when everyone is on the same page, so heres a few things that you should be aware of:

Today's "something" is gift cards - evidently our shopping cart system doesnt particularly like them for whatever reason, so, if you get or give any gift card credit cards any time soon and would like to place an order with them, you will have to call it in: 1-800-978-0206 and things should work out fine.

On that note, if you place an order and it happens to be declined, please contact us immediately by phone or email, do not try to re-submit the order online. We can solve this problem quickly and easily once you contact us.

Also, another quick reminder in case you were wondering, we ship everything out of our office via United States Priority Mail which means whenever you place an order, it will arrive promptly in 2-3 days.

Larger items are shipped from the manufacturers by either Fedex or Ups, whichever has the most economical rates, and we can provide a tracking number once they are ready to ship.

As long as we are on shipping matters, if you happen to live in an apartment building where the mailbox may not be big enough to accept packages, please alert your postal carrier or the "front desk" or whomever else should be notified to be on the lookout for your package and to make sure it is delivered to you.

We have had a few situations where a package ordered to an apartment that was left outside of a mailbox "walked away" because it was not secure.

Otherwise, it's all systems go around here... As always, if you need anything
else, you know where to call.

    Train hard,
    John Wood

  • Daily Administrivia

I purchased a new piece of software two weeks ago and I am still waiting for it to be delivered. I have sent a few emails asking the status and there isn't even any customer phone number -- and this pisses me off to no end!

Ok -- regains composure -- I realize that much of internet commerce these days is a lot like this: who knows what happens out there in cyberspace land once an order is placed?

And unfortunately this is also how it is with many "strength" companies out there, so I understand why many clients would often be leery.

However, that aint how we do things around here:

When you place an order online or call it in, Shelby often has it packed and ready to ship within 10 minutes or so, we have two daily shipments going out, one at noon and one at 5 pm so in almost all cases, books, dvds, grippers etc will be in the mail the very same day.

If you order a larger manufactured item, Shelby calls it in the minute she gets off the phone with you so the wheels start turning asap for things like Trap Bars, climbing ropes etc.

We simply could not make this process happen any faster.

Now, with this being the case, the posted lead times are there for a reason, so please take a look at them so you have an idea on the time frame that you can expect your order to show up.

Generally the turn-around time is much shorter than what is listed and that is the necessary for our manufacturers to get the job done right.

All our "big" items thick bars, climbing ropes etc, are manufactured right here is the USA and like anything else, quality does take time.

Oh, and our summer hours are 8 AM to 6PM Monday through Thursday and 8-4 on Fridays. That's right, we're up an hour before the so-called competition and stay an hour after they call it a day too.

So, regardless of the timezone you're in, if you need anything, we are only a phone call away: 1-800-978-0206

If you are located internationally: ie Canada, UK, Australia, APO address etc - please contact us first for a freight quote and ordering directions. Make sure to include your full shipping address and the specific items you would like to order.

If you want to order sandbags, we will need to know which sandbags you want as well as your shipping city and zip code.

If you do send an email or place a call to Shelby for quotes, tracking numbers etc, please remember to list the items you want, your full name and address, and include all correspondence with any replies.

This makes everything easier for everyone involved.

Thats all I can think of for the time being, its Paul Bunyan Day! So get a log bar to train with:

  • Every Climbing Rope Question Answered

Climbing ropes are *HOT* this summer and if you ever, for any reason, have a question about how to get the right one, we have a special section of our website that answers just about every question you could ever want to know about 'em.

So, if you want to know the best type of hanging hardware, or the right length, or the differences between manila and polyplus, its alllll answered here:

    Climbing Rope Q & A Section

Now, as much Shelby loves to read the website to folks calling up, I strongly urge you to check out that section first since we spent a LOT of time putting it together and making it as informative as possible.

And if your question is not answered there, just let us know and we can add it. Otherwise, recent climbing rope orders have been shipping out in less than a week so if you want one asap, you know who to contact.

    Train hard,
    John Wood

  • New Revised Climbing Rope Page

Around here we subscribe to the concept of “Kaizen!” – or the process of continual and gradual improvement in all areas. This is why you will see the site grow and change on a daily basis, it's because theres always something we can make just a little bit better.

Anyhow, the reason I am writing to you today is that we recently updated our manila climbing ropes page to be a little more descriptive and to include some of our more frequently asked questions.

We sell more top-quality manila climbing ropes than anyone else on the net, so yeah, we know our stuff.

And in case youre wondering, our ropes are being used by serious athletes all over the world. From Fort Bragg, to Fallujah, to the University of Texas, to the Michigan State Spartans and a whole lot more.

So, when it comes to climbing ropes, you can go with some off-brand found elsewhere or you can go with the choice of the Pros...
