Question: Can I use the Super Gripper with the Iron Mind Captains of Crush heavy duty hand grippers (and vice versa) to vary my grip training and become stronger?

Answer:

Think of the relationship between the Ivanko Super Gripper and Iron Mind hand grippers in the same way that you would think about the relationship between barbells and dumbbells.

That is to say, for example, you can use either one for an exercise like the overhead press, but even though you are training the same muscle groups, the exercises themselves will be slightly different because you will be using different equipment. Now, if you want to build the strongest "press" possible, you should incorporate several different kinds of pressing movements into your routine.

This variability is beneficial in terms of giving your system different stimuli to adapt to (and therefore get stronger), as well as to keep your workouts varied and your enthusiasm high.

The best methods for combining Super Gripper training with Iron Mind hand gripper training will be covered in an upcoming FHS training guide. We'll keep you posted!
